The Dark Side, Weeds and Fields and Horse Power

"The Dark Side" :- A large black and ominous storm cloud hovers over the English Channel at Ovingdean Gap on the south coast of England. I'd gone down to the beach to catch the sunset and watched this giant floating malevolent ball of vapour slowly drift into position where it then settled, hovering just over the sea. It was a very powerful thing to observe and you could smell the storm in the air.

"Weeds and Fields" :- This is a shot of Beacon Hill, a nature reserve that sits between the ancient villages off Rottingdean and Ovingdean (both mentioned in the Domesday Book written in 1086) near Brighton on the south coast of England. I was surprised to discover just how dramatic this reasonably mundane capture turned out to be once I had processed it as a black and white image.

"Horse Power" :- Here's a slightly different shot of the famous Carousel on the beach at Brighton, England. I usually grab shots of it with the sea in the background but on this occasion thought i'd try something a little unusual and captured it with the main promenade behind it instead. It was a calm, warm and still night and I just happened to get there as the attraction was deserted, about to close but still had all its lights on. It was a photo opportunity that was too great to miss!
