Not Seaworthy, Octagon and False Security

"Not Seaworthy" :- Down along the River Adur in Shoreham there's a pathway that runs along the side of the mudflats and houseboats. When the weather is fine it's a lovely place to take a stroll while taking in the view and various sights. As I was walking along the pathway I spotted this old forlorn looking boat with its prow sticking up through the undergrowth. Looks like it's been a very long time since it last saw water or was able to float!

"Octagon" :- A shot looking from one of the main courtyards down through the small tunnel that leads to the "Octagon" which is another courtyard with a central fountain within the complex that is Brighton Marina. Various souvenir shops sit alongside furniture and homeware stores, property estate agents and boat sellers. There are a few inns and bars as well as many restaurants. On this particular day t was sunny but very fresh and cold so not many people were braving the chill that was in the air.

"False Security" :- I have photographed this concrete monstrosity of a tunnel and walkway a few time but this was the first time I managed to get there at dusk just as the lights had been turned on for the onset of night. After setting up the camera I patiently waited for various people to make their way through, many dawdled and dwindled as if to push my patience to the limit but eventually it cleared and as I decided to take the shot a boy ran down, turned and walked back up as slowly as he could. Realising how insignificant and small he looked I took the opportunity to grab the shot then and there. These places are grim at the best of times and certainly not the sort of place you want to find yourself in and around at night. This pathway leads up from brighton Marina to the promenade at Black Rock on Brighton seafront.
